70s inspired weddings are making a comeback, bringing with them funky vibes, bold colors, and a whole lot of groovy love. Are you ready to take a trip back in time for your big day?

As Chattanooga wedding planners, we’re thrilled to dive into the retro trend that’s stealing the spotlight in modern weddings.

Why Opt for a 70s-inspired Wedding?

The 70s were all about breaking free from tradition and embracing individuality and that’s exactly what our clients Jenny and Andrew did!

From their fashion choices to music and everything in between, this wedding was a celebration of self-expression. So, why not infuse your wedding day with the same carefree spirit? Think bright colors, disco balls, and flower power – the perfect elements for a wedding that radiates love and uniqueness.

Oakleaf Cottage: A Love Story Set in the 70s

Jenny and Andrew recently celebrated their love at the enchanting Oakleaf Cottage, and their wedding is the epitome of the 70s vibe. Nestled in the Appalachian Mountains, the upscale barn, rustic charm, and natural surroundings were the perfect backdrop for this celebration. With earthy tones, bohemian décor, and a dance floor that witnessed some serious disco moves, their celebration perfectly captured the essence of the era. The venue was transformed into a groovy space complete with disco balls, with every detail perfectly captured by Wandermoore Photography. Their 70s inspired wedding was a true blast from the past, delighting guests with its retro charm and funky flair.

Fashion Forward

Jenny was the epitome of boho-chic with her dress from Monica’s! Not to mention our oh-so-groovy groom with attire provided by Stitch & Tie. Between Jenny’s dress, Andrew’s tux, and the vibrant color palette of the bridesmaids, guests were treated to a visually stunning and retro-inspired ambiance.

The Soundtrack of Love

Jenny and Andrew’s reception at Oakleaf Cottage was the perfect way to pay homage to the 70s. From the disco balls, signage, and decor, guests truly took a step back in time. The couple and guests were treated to a delicious meal catered by Food Words, Riverside Events, Tasty Donuts, and Garrett Osgood Baking Co. DJT3 got everyone grooving by bringing the reception tunes and the fun. It was so fun to see the couple and their guests on their feet and dancing away to the disco anthems and classic rock songs of those times!

Cheers rang under the stars as Jenny and Andrew said peace out to their guests in a groovy getaway car. It was the perfect way to end a magical evening!

As Chattanooga wedding planners, we are so grateful to have been able to celebrate and embrace love in its most groovy form with this couple. Of course, we couldn’t have boogied down true 70s style without the help of our amazing vendors. Check out our other blogs for more colorful wedding style inspiration here.
